What is an international school?
An international school provides a curriculum distinct from the host country’s national system, welcoming students of all nationalities. Many apply globally recognized standards and undergo international accreditations, such as the International Baccalaureate (IB), and primarily use English as the medium of instruction in addition to other languages to cater to their multicultural student body.
In Japan, reputable international schools are often recognized locally as educational organizations and child care centers such as ninkagai hoikuen (Japanese kanji) and accredited by external bodies such as IB PYP to ensure global standards. Please visit our campus pages for more information about each campus standard compliance or school accreditations.
