Theme:
The Wide Blue Sea
Goals:
Understand the habitat of marine life, and how animals survive under the sea.The wide blue sea. Children explore simple physics by learning about the ocean and sea creatures.
Questions:

How do ocean animals adapt to their environment for survival?
How do we replenish water in the ocean?
How do we use and reuse water?

PA
For PA, we finished lesson 41 and started lesson 42.
For Lesson 41, friends learned about R blends including br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, and tr. They learned how to write, read, and spell the words from this lesson. Consonant blends are a new concept for them in Junior Kindy class, and friends worked very hard practicing the blends. Also, they learned four new high frequency words including how, new, there and what. At the end of the lesson, friends practiced the new blend words by reading the decodable book Fran Goes to the Prom.
For lesson 42, friends learned about L blends including bl, cl, fl, gl, pl, and sl. They learned how to write, spell and read the words from this lesson. From next month, they will practice the high frequency words and read the decodable book.

Numeracy
Counting by 5s
Friends learned and practiced how to count by 5s. They learned that when counting by 5s, the numbers will always end in either 5 or 0. This made it easier for them to count all the way to 100 by fives. To practice this, friends did a cut and paste activity to put the numbers in the correct order. Also, we did count by 5s exercises together where they moved their bodies with the numbers.
Craft
Christmas Hat for Costume- Friends used watercolor paints and stickers to make their Christmas hats for the Winter Show Costume. They made their own designs and tried very hard to keep the paint in their area. Now, they are very good at cleaning up their own spaces.
Snowman Christmas Card- Using a stencil, friends drew many circles. Then, they cut them out and attached them together. After that, they were glued to a card to make a 3D Snowman Card.
Christmas Tree- This was a cut and paste craft to practice cutting skills. Friends colored, cut and pasted ornaments onto a Christmas Tree.
Science Class
Invisible Ink
Friends tried two different kinds of invisible ink. The first kind was with milk and heat. Using qtips, friends wrote or drew secret messages on their papers. Then, they let them dry. Then, using baking soda and water mixed together they did the same thing. After everything was dry it was time to make the messages appear again. For the milk, they used the heat from a flashlight to expose the message. For the baking soda, they used a dark juice to expose the message. The juice and baking soda were much more effective than the milk.
Cooking Class
Strawberry French Toast
Friends used a variety of ingredients to make Strawberry French Toast. First, the milk, eggs, sugar and cinnamon were mixed together. Then, the bread was dipped into the egg mixture and fried in the pan. After that, friends practiced their cutting skills by slicing strawberries and bananas. The, after the french toast was cooled down, friends used cookie cutters to cut out Christmas shapes. Then, it was topped with syrup and enjoyed! Everyone really enjoyed eating the bread with the fresh fruit.

Japanese Class
Friends are discussing the calendar, days of the week and months of the year as well as practicing writing hiragana and reading Japanese story books.
Physical Education
First they run and do stretching. Then they do the circuit.

・マット（前転）→お腹を見て転がる、まっすぐ回る （開脚前転）→足を大きく開く、膝を伸ばす
・ブロック歩き→ブロックから落ちないように前向きで歩く
・フープ、印ジャンプ→フープや印をジャンプで前へリズムよく進んでいく
・跳び箱登り降り→跳び箱の上からジャンプして着地で立つ
・跳び箱（開脚跳び）→足をグーにして跳ぶ、お尻を上げる、着地で立つ
・鉄棒（足抜き回り、ツバメ前回り降り、逆上がり）→恐怖心を減らす、鉄棒を最後まで離さない
・トンネル→体を小さくして、中を早く通る
Music Class
Friends are starting to use the pianica. Learn how to use and how to clean up the keyboard harmonica. Make sure the prohibited matters to play the keyboard harmonica safely. This month they learned the notes Do, Re, and Mi.
For musical knowledge:
- Look at the various musical instruments cards and listen to their sound by keyboard.
- Learn the musical scale with the keyboard card.
- Learn the name of the notes and the length of the beats through the rhythm cards.
