Our AWIS students wrote to their new pen pals in Australia, and when the replies arrived, they opened them for the very first time! 🇯🇵💌🇦🇺

The smiles, surprised faces, excited whispers, and lots of “Look what they wrote!” said it all. 😆🥹✨

But this exchange is about more than what was written on a piece of paper.

It’s about curiosity—wondering about someone who lives far away.
It’s about respect—being open to another person’s experiences and way of life.
And it’s about discovering that meaningful connections can begin even before two friends have ever met. 🌏🤝

A simple exchange of letters has opened a little window into another part of the world—and reminded us that friendship, curiosity, and respect can travel across oceans. 💌🌏

✉️🌏 ただのお手紙ではありません…

AWISの生徒たちは、オーストラリアのお友だちにお手紙を書きました。そして、お返事が届くと、初めてそのお手紙を開いて読みました！ 🇯🇵💌🇦🇺

笑顔、驚いた表情、ワクワクした声、そして「見て！こんなことが書いてある！」という嬉しそうな声。😆🥹✨

でも、この交流は、紙に書かれた言葉だけではありません。

それは、好奇心。遠く離れた場所に暮らす誰かについて「もっと知りたい」と思うこと。
それは、尊重。相手の経験や暮らし方に興味を持ち、心を開くこと。
そして、まだ直接会ったことのない二人の間にも、意味のあるつながりが始まることを知ることです。🌏🤝

一通のお手紙の交換が、子どもたちに世界の別の場所を知る小さな窓を開いてくれました。そして、友情、好奇心、そして相手を尊重する気持ちは、海を越えてつながっていくことを教えてくれました。💌🌏
